The story

Sitara means star, and the name is the whole idea: a small, steady glow rather than an overnight transformation. This is the brand's signature night serum, built for skin that wants rich, natural moisturisation and wakes up looking like it slept well.

The base is a slow one. Walnut oil and sesame oil are cooked together for over ten days with a carefully chosen infusion of Ayurvedic herbs — manjistha, vetiver, ratanjot, wild turmeric, anantmool and dashmool, alongside hibiscus and damask rose. Ten ingredients in total, each one earning its place rather than padding a label.

Ten days of slow cooking. Ancient herbs. Nourishing oils. One signature ritual, repeated nightly rather than reinvented.

At night, after cleansing, massage a few drops gently onto the face and neck and let it be the last thing that touches the skin before sleep. No heavy cream, no elaborate routine — just the richness of oils, Ayurvedic herbs and time. Because every night deserves a little starlight.

What goes in

10 botanicals, every one of them named. Nothing hides behind "fragrance".

  • Sesame Oil (base)

  • Farm-grown ingredients

Grown on our own land in Heul Valley, Uttarakhand.

  • Small batches

Made a few dozen at a time, never mass-produced.

  • No harmful chemicals

No parabens, sulphates or synthetic fragrance. Ever.

  • Traditional preparation

    Cold-pressed, shade-dried and hand-pounded, as always.

The ritual

  1. Cleanse first

Sitara works best on a clean face, so wash and pat dry before applying.

  2. A few drops only

1-2 drops for the whole face and neck — this is a serum, not a lotion, and a little goes a long way.

  3. Massage it in

Warm the oil between your fingertips, then massage gently upward into the face and neck.

  4. Make it the last step

Apply it last, right before sleep, so it has the whole night to work rather than being layered under something else.

Questions

What exactly am I getting?

This one is 15 ml, 12 months from the day it is made, and it is dry, dull or tired-looking skin wanting a nightly moisture ritual. Every batch is prepared by hand in Heul Valley.

Is it really made from farm-grown ingredients?

Yes. The herbs, turmeric and milk come from our own farms and neighbouring households in Heul Valley. We buy nothing from commodity wholesalers, which is also why our batches are small and occasionally sell out.

Will it suit sensitive skin?

There is no synthetic fragrance, no sulphate and no paraben in anything we make, which is what usually causes trouble. That said, botanicals are still active ingredients, so patch-test on your inner arm and wait a day before you use anything new on your face.

Why does the colour or smell vary between orders?

Because the harvest varies. Turmeric grown in a wetter year is a deeper ochre, and the honey changes with whatever is flowering. We do not correct any of it with dye or fragrance, so a little variation between batches is the honest result.

How long does delivery take?

Orders leave our workshop within two working days. Metros usually receive in three to five days, the rest of India in five to eight. You will get a tracking link as soon as the parcel is handed over.

Can I return it?

Unopened items can come back within fourteen days for a full refund. If something arrives damaged or turns out faulty, write to us with a photograph and we will replace it, opened or not.
